Steven Fondacaro

Inclusion Program dIRECTOR

Steven has been a Special Education Teacher for 8 years. During the year Steven works for the Department of Education in the Bronx where he teaches in an integrated co-teaching classroom. Previously Steven has also worked at the Children's Village located in Dobbs Ferry, NY, a residential treatment facility for children with emotional and behavioral needs.  Steven At the Shames JCC on the Hudson he directs "Sunday in the Neighborhood, a special needs program where he provides skills needed for independent living. He is excited for his 5th year at camp having spearheaded the 2:1 Program at camp last year. As the Director of Inclusion Programs, he will ensure that the camper experience will impact the development of your child both socially and emotionally,  during camp and future endeavors.  In spare time Steven enjoys time with family and watching/playing baseball.

Stephanie Pena

lEVEL 1 Coordinator

Stephanie has worked with children with special needs in a camp setting for over ten years. She received her Master’s Degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University where she focused on international disability issues and inclusive education. She was able to travel to multiple countries to research, teach, and create inclusive programs for international organizations. Stephanie currently works at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood as an Inclusion Coordinator and spent last summer as the Inclusion Team Leader for the 5:1 program at Camp Twelve Trails.

Tracey Wiener

LEVEL 2 Coordinator 

Tracey joined the Twelve Trails team in 2016 previously working with us through the JCC Country Day Camp. Tracey brings a plethora of knowledge having worked with children with special needs for many years. During the year she is a Early Childhood teacher at the Shames JCC on the Hudson as well as a supervisor in the for the Super Sunday Program which promotes social skills to children with developmental disabilities. In 2017 Tracey became the Level 2 Coordinator for our Inclusion program at Camp.
