Meet our Inclusion Team
Inclusion Program dIRECTOR
Steve has been a Special Education Teacher for 8 years. During the year Steve works for the Department of Education in the Bronx where he teaches in an integrated co-teaching classroom. Previously Steve has also worked at the Children's Village located in Dobbs Ferry, NY, a residential treatment facility for children with emotional and behavioral needs. During the year he also directs "Sunday in the Neighborhood" a special needs program run out of the Shames JCC on the Hudson where he provides skills needed for independent living to young adults. As the Director of Inclusion Programs, he will ensure that the camper experience will impact the development of our campers, both socially and emotionally, during camp and in future endeavors. In his spare time Steve enjoys time with family and watching/playing baseball.
lEVEL 1 Coordinator
Stephanie has worked with children with special needs in a camp setting for over ten years. She received her Master’s Degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University where she focused on international disability issues and inclusive education. She was able to travel to multiple countries to research, teach, and create inclusive programs for international organizations. Stephanie currently works at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood as an Inclusion Coordinator where she works to create Inclusive programming in their out of school time programs. Stephanie joined the Camp Twelve Trails team in 2016.
LEVEL 2 Coordinator
Tracey joined the Twelve Trails team in 2016 previously working with us through the JCC Country Day Camp. Tracey brings a plethora of knowledge having worked with children with special needs for many years. During the year she is a Early Childhood teacher at the Shames JCC on the Hudson as well as a supervisor in the Super Sunday Program which promotes social skills to children with developmental disabilities. In 2017 Tracey became the Level 2 Coordinator for our Inclusion program at Camp.
