Working as a counselor at Camp Twelve Trails is so much more than simply being part of an engaging day camp team. Camp Twelve Trails provides you the opportunity to assist in creating one of our five neighborhoods: Play (Sports & Fitness), Explore (Outdoor Adventures), Grow (Farm to Table), Discover (Science & Technology) and Create (Performing & Visual Arts).
At Camp Twelve Trails, we want you to inspire the same spark in campers that you felt when your discovered what you were passionate about. We have ambitious expectations of you for helping kids make appropriate choices, problem solve, and navigate relationships. You’ll help build a vibrant camp community, strengthened by universally accepted Jewish values which include welcoming others and accepting differences, caring for the earth, caring for your body, being a positive role model and Shabbat (Rest and Reflection).
Seeking enthusiastic people
Camp days generally start on the bus around 8am, arriving to camp by 9am. We are seeking counselors who understand the camp day truly begins as soon as the first camper gets to the bus stop, and who is prepared to lead them in songs, games and conversation, engage them in the Neighborhood activities during the day, and maintain your enthusiasm on the ride home at 4:30 pm. You may also participate in occasional trips, overnights, and special events during the seven-week camp program.
Training
You’ll receive extensive training and participate in an orientation where you’ll learn to work in concert with other staff and set high standards for yourself. You’ll collaborate with supportive, like-minded co-counselors eager to give kids a rich summer experience and a lifetime of memories. You’ll develop “camp people,” so like you, they become kids whose experience at camp leaves them with the desire to return as staff and give back.
